Carla Walker-Miller Ribbon Cutting On New Facility

DETROIT, MI, April 26, 2019 - The HIGH Program and other supporters of Walker-Miller Energy Services were invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony in their new facility in midtown Detroit. Ms. Walker-Miller thanked her many supporters over the years. Among them were Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, Mayor Duggan, DWSD Director Gary Brown, Jewell Ware Wayne County Commissioner representing District 2.

As founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services (WMES), Carla Walker-Miller is a savvy entrepreneur and a visionary leader determined to change lives through energy. Her firm creates and manages customized energy waste reduction programs that help electric and gas utilities meet mandated energy savings goals. The goal for her new facility is to create a net zero energy space, a building that creates as much energy as it uses. Her plans also includes the buildings that surround Walker-Miller, a day care as well as the NAACP Detroit office. It will become what she termed the "Emerald Corner", one of the greenest areas in the country.

Carla Walker-Miller is one of the newest members of the HIGH Program's Board of Advisors.
