Research at Social Work
The School of Social Work launched its long-anticipated Center for Social Work Practice and Policy Research to “generate knowledge that improves the lives of disadvantaged individuals, families, and communities through a comprehensive approach to research, consultation, and information dissemination.” Working through the center, SSW faculty will study and investigate high-need areas including trauma and violence, criminal and juvenile justice, child welfare, services for older adults, family programs and social and community development. Agencies and organizations map tap into the center’s resources in a team approach to generate ideas that solve problems and bridge the gap between research and practice.
